i cannot say how sorry i am for the terrible losses suffered,as a British citizen it seems we tried taking on the world 100 years ago, built a big empire, but at what cost, our army and navy used"PRESS GANGS" WHO JUST REALLY WENT ABOUT KIDNAPPING DRUNKS,TEENS,HOMELESS ETC and i,m afraid that yours are now doing the same, just using subtler methods today,to what end-more for the meat grinder-i fear oil is more important than religion, well, this is how it looks to outsiders, and if recruitment is allowed in any school i am horrified-and they call muslims fanatical!PS remember the russians were at it in the same region for years and got nowhere,WAR itself has changed, and if you don,t have the support of a large section of local help your forces are at an immediate disadvantage, and i don,t think America has that support,so her losses are dreadful,it just drags on and on,like korea, vietnam and now various middle east nations,WAKE UP and let your children grow up in safety, cut down on your energy use, don,t drive huge cars and remove your dependence on these other nations,so they won,t need your children to fight for ?-and to attempt to simplify it as the red menace etc is facile.ps the gun laws are ridiculous too-i,m 57 and NEVER even seen one,yet your side,s knee deep in them, you can argue all you want BUT no guns means no shooting

The lies & false flags are ever increasing in order to keep people under the illusion that we are at war with foreign terrorists. The reality is that WE are now ALL considered to be terrorists & all of us are under constant scrutiny by military police squads all over this country. We are no longer a free nation. We lost the real war here-we lost our liberty by believing the lies direct from the White House & Pentagon. It seems surrender is close-our only chance is to keep trying to get the truth out to our fellow countrymen & families. But-now-truth equals traitor to the gov. BE CAREFUL.

Subject: Good Awakening
The video is factual and complete. There is a lot of purses that open up fighting wars and that means MONEY. The founding fathers wanted nothing to do with "foreign entanglements", except to provide a strong defense to America's shores from invaders. Today, under the thumb of Israel, we are the "invaders" in the Mideast fighting THEIR wars for them with American kids who really don't understand the world situation. So you have Bush who was AWOL, while campaigning for some politician, and Cheney who had 5 deferments and never served; commanding the U.S. Military. Israel and Oil are the circumstances behind the war, and the puppets in the White House and the AIPAC whores in Congress should be held accountable. Ms. Sheehan is a courageous woman and I am with her 100%.

Subject: Biggest Scam of all and your lifes on the line
To try and rule from the barrel of a gun or the edge of a sword has NEVER worked and Never will. Violence and hatred only breed more violence and hate. This is unnatural to the human species, we are a beautiful creation and have been given a magical experience here on this Earth School. All life is of the utmost importance and should be treated so, do something kind for your Earth brother and it will catch on. As far as the military is concerned, it is a game to them, and one that will NOT be won, EVER. If you think the elite/global bankers/iluminati/satan/dark ones/Reptilians/Greys/Evil or whatever you want to call them have any remorse for these men and women I will pray for you. Its all about controling money, natural resources, land and most of the time human lives must be lost in gaining these fleeting items. My prayers go out to all who have fallen to wars evil and venimous wrath. Peace is not far away, a new golden age awaits those who are becoming awakened. I hope to see you all there, love.

Subject: Truth
Ok before I review this allow me to explain who I am and why my opinion matters on this.
I was always taught as a child to go the distance. Listen more talk less.

When learning or sharing an opinion I always make sure my facts are straight and I have distance and conviction in the matter. (Experience) I was a Army recruiter. Before that I was an Airborne Infantry Soldier "and yes Cindy Sheehan, I was combat and scored rather high on all exams. "The Military doesn't have a policy that only the stupid soldiers die for there country and beliefs"

I am exploring these sites not only to try to open peoples eyes to the reality of the situation, but to understand more. My experience with the military, this war and recruiting means I have went the distance. That cannot be questioned. All that is left is for me to share what I understand in hopes that it will get rid of so much pointless fabricated altered reality's.

Now the Video.
First I need for you to answer some questions in your head. To get that understand of the situation before we approach any of these complaints.

1) Is a Military necessary in the world that we live in? (((If you answered no seek help or sober up or study up on communism and how to survive it.)))

2) If Yes to answer 1 then would you rather there be recruiting efforts or a draft? (((Will you ever be happy having to deal with the reality of this world))) Even if it isn't you dealing with it..

3) Do you assume that recruiters are evil or completely lacking morals and integrity? The Military in general is full of people that have no emotions or standards? You couldn't be more farther from the truth. The soldiers that I have met in my 8 years of service deserve better then me trying to justify there character on some website. (((They have given up there personal lives and kids Birthdays to provide you security show them some respect)))

4) There are tactics and flaws to military recruiting that I dislike. Trust me I know, its why I left the Army. Recruiting has taken a lot from me. But.. I understand the need for it. I realized that it wasn't the chain of commands evil intentions to teach sales techniques. Believe it or not Recruiting is the hardest job I have ever witnessed. A lot of people are not walking in that door to serve the country. They are trying to serve themselves. They want all the money, time to do there personal things, vacations, specific jobs "Even if the job if full" Promises to never see combat etc etc. Never once will you hear, Sir I want nothing more then to serve this country. I want to test myself emotionally, mentally and physically. I want to gain an appreciation for what we have and become a part of your legacy. LOL Never once heard that in 4 years of recruiting. Truth is with out the Rock walls, pencils, T shirts and soldiers think skin this country would be in for a draft. We would have to force people to protect it. (((Its not just the military its us)))

Ok now to review this video.

1) Students recruited in the military without there parents knowing? Impossible, without parental consent they cannot join.
2) Taking students away and isolating them? That lady said the student was testing, believe it or not, they don't test people at there home. There are numerous test that may not be local, and can take a lot of time to complete. Why wasn't the Parent present during the process? I know I would be right there through it all along with other hard decisions my child may face.
3) Recruiter wouldn't allow student to call home? They don't use handcuffs, I have never witnessed a recruiter not allowing someone to call home. If I had that recruiter and I would have had a talk. But if I had witnessed it, would that mean that I go on a video and insinuate that the military practices this?
4)High Schools recruiters life blood? So far from the truth. In any average year get stats on any recruiters, HS Students VS. Grads Grad will most always be higher. We had an issue with a lot of the high school kids either not able to pass academic tests or drug tests.
5) Giving out T shirts and Pencils. They are getting there name out there. That is what recruiting is.
6) Recruiters going to poor communities, Not so,,,, Again troubles with academic exams, Drugs etc.
7) The young lady said what if I am asked to kill someone? Umm its the military... Enough said.
8) Conditioning at boot camp, What makes the grass grow green blood, etc. It is to condition a person for the worst. To ensure there is little state of shock or hesitation in a violent situation. Not only can that get you killed but your buddy, again its the military....
9)Try to break you down, screw with you mentally. Again conditioning. In order to have a high success rate with training and conditioning, you have to start from the bottom. The mental challenge is to break bad habits, and install discipline and respect for things earned. Again its the military.
10) Wouldn't allow the depressed lady to speak with appropriate people, Slit her wrist. There is an open door policy in the military. That means you don't have to ask permission to speak with chain of command, Just do it, I have used it several times. And how many people in the military slit there wrist in training? Is the number much higher then high school kids? College kids? Blue/white color worker? You get my point. Perhaps the issue was she wasn't very stable and could have went down the road else where.
11) My personal fav,,,, Cindy Sheehan. Her son (My brother in arms) was recruited at age of 21? What more can I say here. A young man made a choice. She did something right, She raised a young man that was willing to give up so much for something he believed in... God will tell him that he was not typical. He knew pain, hunger, fatigue. You ask me I think he is perfect candidate for heaven. What really bothers me is to hear Cindy say "He scored so high that the recruiter promised him he would never see combat? This shows your character and opinion of us Cindy. I am Combat, and yet I scored very high. I had my option to pick any job that was available. But thank you for thinking that the Military only lets idiots in combat. I just wanted to go all the way. Again Distance and conviction. Between you and Sen Kerry we are all Idiots with no other options but to serve out of desperation.

Well I have said my peace. I hope that some of this made sense and gave you a glimpse of my world, and what is really going on here. Again I do not support all of recruiting tactics, but I support my soldiers. Most of the recruiters I have met are depressed and even seen them break down and cry after a parent yells at them on the phone for calling them and interrupting there day. Please if you are to critique anything make sure you have the distance to understand it.

From a former soldier to yall. I regret nothing. All the yelling. Articles, Bashing etc. I was a soldier and we survive. It wasn't meant to be easy. I was willing to give my life for any one of you and still am. We are all in this together. Please before you get involved with any opinion make sure you have walked a mile in there shoes....

Mr. Loophead, you are an idiot. By your comments, it is obvious that you know nothing about the military. First of all, we are not children. We are adults and professional warriors. We have made the choice to serve our country and we are damn proud of it.

The Marine had stated that terrorists are assholes and deserve to die. This is not hate or warmongering; it is reality. Do all Muslims deserve to die? Absolutely not. But the terrorists (who kill Americans as well as lots of their own people) certainly deserve to die. Perhaps you would like for them to fly more planes into our buildings, blow up more of our embassies, or blow up some more of our ships (like the USS Cole). Quit your whining and let real men do their jobs.

hey dedhed76 - i'll gladly salute you when you 'serve your country' and come back in a body bag. go back to iraq, warmonger. you're just as bad as the terrorists with your extremist anger and wanting things YOUR way (as they want things THEIR way).

The military has certain purposes in serving its country, but I'm damn mad at the thought that many CHILDREN are dying for a war that shouldn't be happening right now.

A lot of pro-warmongers out there believe "kill them or be killed". This type of mentality breeds fear in the nation - look at how much CRAP news is out there about the 'war on terrorism'. The government is milking the country's money for this war. The US dollar is at its worst due to the debt this war is causing. There is absolutely no way that you can stop terrorism. Never.

I don't believe that terrorism is good in any way, but I am realistic in knowing that the longer there are US / Canadian / European soldiers in those countries, the more tension there is. If the UK weren't involved in the 'war', there wouldn't be terrorism fear in the UK right now.

Fear breeds fear.
Anger breeds anger.
War breeds war.

The war needs to END and we need to focus on rebuilding the destruction before things really start to get out of hand.

Subject: Fight for peace first
I share some things in common with both Cindy Sheehan and Dedhed76:

i) I was conscripted for two years to fight in PW Botha's Apartheid war against the ANC
ii)I lost a 20 year old son in a domestic motor accident.

Unlike dedhed76 I am not proud of my military service, and I would never have allowed my self to be coopted into service if I had known what I know as an adult today. Military service is not an "honour". In my military service I dealt with death statistics, most soldiers in South Africa died in domestic motor accidents back and forward to the war!

This is a very difficult subject. My experience taught me fully that I would avoid conscription until an absolutely last resort. I would never want to force on my younger countrymen what my parents forced on me. Propaganda and recruitment and forced giving of recruiter information is the first step towards full conscription.

What struck me about these videos was that they could just have easily been made by Iraqi or Afghan mothers. The self righteousness of the protagonists is just detail. The reality is that it is not soldiers with "24 years service" that are dying, it is young people on both sides, who don't have the life capabilities to resist being pulled into the spiral of violence.

What I am proud of is to have been part of a people that resolved a war situation in South Africa and replaced it with a lasting peace. The first step is to have respect for those on the other side and to realize that you are going to have to make massive concessions and totally forgive the past. To that end all of us in South Africa owe a debt to people like Nelson Mandela, who could rise above the conflict. If you can do that, you will be taking the first step to sorting out this conflict.

There is no honor in talking up a war. It takes true courage to talk peace in a country on a war footing. It is a courage that I did not have at 19 years old.

Subject: Funny isn't it?
How when bush bashing it's easy to seperate the war on terror on Iraq, but when just generally being antiwar "those countries" is an easy all in one package. Hmmm? Are they related or not? Is al qeada in iraq or not? How many canadians and europeans are in iraq? Do you know any of this, or are you just giving your heart felt feelings about piece on earth an utopia. There is no draft, no forced fighting and not all the soldiers are poor undeducated inner city minorities like some like to spin either.

You are right, the war should not be happening right now, but it is. It has been going on since the persian empire and crusade periods.

As for CRAP news, it's all made up right? Like the jews and MI5 blowing up the towers and all the other loony ass nonsense that is dumbing down the easily lead to goosestep in line behind sean penn and other idiots who claim to represent the people but are living in 20k sq ft houses in malibu... PLEASE.

The terrorism started long before "we" were in "those" countries. Don't you know that "those" contries used to have significant numbers of jews, christians, hindus, sihks, zorastorians and other indigenous religions which have been snuffed out by the sword? And before you say anything about native americans, I am part one myself and the laws here protect native people, not outlaw their religion. Mistakes were made in opression of races and religion here in the past but were corrected by great piece of paper called the constitution, but not everyone has one so they would not know. They learn from their buddies over stale bong hits of shwag and circle jerks the trendy sound bytes that make them fit in with the younger people who quite honestly don't seem to get it.

You left out the final thing, war brings peace, It has been repeated countless times in history, you should read about history and you would see that. Lastly, cindy has every right to be upset with the loss of her son and free speech protects all of our opinions. I just think it diminishes the value of her own son's sacrifice who died doing what he wanted to do, serve his country and protect his fellow american soldier in battle. To say he died for nothing is a slap in the face of him and his fellow soldiers, that is just my opinion. You can call me a bogot and imperial grand wizard or black panther or whatever other zany hairbrained insult you can steal from air america now.

Let her run for congress, she probably would beat pelosi and get less kickbacks to her family members by passing legislation. I cannot believe what I hear sometimes form people. I wonder how we could all be seeing the same facts and yet some of us want to hug everyone and others hunt biblical dinosaur eggs. I am afraid for our future. The video quality is not bad.

Subject: Military vs Civilian
What Servicemembers do to give people who made this video the freedom to it. I bet they won't talk trash in another country.

Civilian: You stay up for 16 hours.

Military: He stays up for days on end.

Civilian: You take a warm shower to help you wake up.

Military: He goes days or weeks without running water.

Civilian: You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.

Military: He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.

Civilian: You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends.

Military: He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.

Civilian: You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket.

Military: He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.

Civilian: You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you.

Military: He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.

Civilian: You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.

Military: He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.

Civilian: You complain about how hot it is.

Military: He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.

Civilian:You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.

Military: He doesn't get to eat today.

Civilian: Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.

Military: He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.

Civilian: You go to the mall and get your hair redone.

Military: He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.

Civilian: You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.

Military: He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.

Civilian: You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.

Military: He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.

Civilian: You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.

Military: He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.

Civilian: You roll your eyes as a baby cries.

Military: He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.

Civilian: You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.

Military: He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.

Civilian: You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.

Military: He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.

Civilian: You see only what the media wants you to see.

Military: He sees the broken bodies lying around him.

Civilian: You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.

Military: He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger.

Civilian: You stay at home and watch TV.

Military: He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

Civilian: You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.

Military: He tries to sleep but gets woken by mortars and helicopters all night long.

Long story short, freedom isn't free. It's cost someone something for us to have and keep the freedom we have now.

Subject: Important message - Other parents should heed their message....
From my experience of being recruited out of high school on the delay entry program all thru my eventual discharge after being blindsided by a 2.5 ton truck in basic training up until today dealing with the after effects of my back injury I can honestly say that I have been in the shoes of the children who were cohersed into joining the armed services. The audacity of our military establishment never ceases to amaze me considering the fact that their need for bodies for their war profitting machine outweighs the moral and ethical reality of life itself. Even after the accident caused by a neglectful inexperienced truck driver suddenly made me not fit for duty, the military not only withheld my money for college, they also kept the money I had paid each pay period for my contribution toward the GI Bill. Then for the next 2 years I was unable to hold a job the VA was repaid the money back from my $2500 seperation pay so I did not receive benefits for my injuries for nearly 2 yrs. Then after repaying they tried to take away my injury benefits even though I was still having physical problems and still do til this day.

My point is the military and our government could care less about our children, their well being or how things end up for them. We are only a number when part of the military machine. When you are of no use to them anymore you are cast aside, much like our injuried military members coming back from Iraq who not only endure their wounds, they endure the horrible health care our government provides those who are of no use to their plans anymore.

Hats off to the makers of this short film, the importance of making families aware of this threat on their children is IMPORTANT!!!!!!

Good video to show young impressionable youngsters who will be sent to a place they know nothing about by people who know little more than they. Little Dick Cheney and the rest of those chickenhawks are willing to spend every drop of our children's blood to make a dime. Marine General Smedley Butler said:

"I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested."

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Reviewer: my recruiter never lied - 1.00 out of 5 stars - March 6, 2007
Subject: its a choice you make
First, let me start by saying my recruiter never lied. He was completely up front and honest about what I was about to do by joining the Marines. Our armed forces are a voluntary force that fights for your rights and freedoms. Even in the draft era of Vietnam our armed forces was 60 % voluntary. To blame a recruiter for doing his job is uncalled for. You want the right, the freedom, to complain about the military and how they recruit. The men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice with their life is the reason you have that right. The right to burn a flag, to protest a war, to have a website to complain how your children were tricked into signing a contract. The heroic people of the military are willing to die so you have that right. If your child is going to sign a contract I highly suggest that you have them read it and if they are promised anything it should be in that contract. Every thing I was promised was in writing. The world is full of evil but the recruiters of the armed forces are not part of that group. I am not saying that a recruiter has never lied but I would guess I could make that statement about any profession. The recruiter on your film should not have been a recruiter if he lied to make is quota of recruits but to base your film on the whole institution of recruiters on one man who lied is ridicules as saying every priest is a child molester because a few have been convicted of this crime. Please remember that your child volunteered to wear a uniform to defend his country. If we go to war or have a law passes then its because the people we elected have voted for the war or law. The President signed the law into effect but your representatives made and wrote the law. Your reps voted to go to war. You want to make a change then call your congressman and tell him if he wants to keep his job to vote the way the people he represents want him to vote.

It would seem that we must offer our children and young boys and even young men the same opportunities and bene fits that the armed forces have to offer without having to take up arms. As soon as we can do that the army will have to up the anti and hopefully it will become too expensive to stay in operation. We can only pay so much taxes befor we will be forced to refuse to pay that part of our taxes that support the military. You can hardly call yourself non violent unless you quit paying those taxes that support them anyway. There are groups out there that do just that too. Verena

I felt that the little film clip hit the nail on the head when it comes to the lenghts many recruiters are willing to go to have a recruit sign a contract.

For more information see the film clip at www.beforeyouenlist.org. It does not tell a young person to join or not join the military, but rathre informs them of all the potential difficulties invlved with military life, especially in time of war. A person would not purhcase a house, accept a job or enroll in a school without checking things out. Likewise the joining the military. The Pentagon has a multi-billion dollar budget for recrutiting. Main Street Moms have a web site and far less money. Why should the Pentagon fear it?

As for the current state of the world right now. If the War in Iraq is that critical to our nation's well being and is on par with World War II, may I suggest the following:

If foreign oil funds terrorism:

1) Slap a tarriff on imported oil.
2) Institute fuel rationing.
3) Impose strigent fuel economy standards on vehicles.

If we are willing to sacrifice our young people in this war we should be willing to:

1) Have our taxes raised.
2) Have previous tax cuts recinded.

Finally we should:

1) Instute a draft, no exceptions and no exemptions. Starting with the neo-clowns, fundamentalists, et al.
2) Allow openly gay people to join. Alexander the Great, the conqueror of the known world was gay or at least bisexual.

This is just food for thought. I know it will not go very far. In Bush world believing makes things true be it WMD's in Iraq, terror links, being welcomed as liberators, Iraqi oil paying for the war, the insurgency being in the last throughs, etc. The problem with people with too much faith is that they can't see reality. If you don't deal with reality then reality will deal with you.

I wonder what those who have fought for our freedom over the past 200 years would think. Most of those who oppose military recruitment are to lost in their own world to realize that we need people to stand up and defend this great nation. Even when there was a draft during Vietnam, 60% of those in the military were volunteers. Go figure right! You may not support the government or even the war but, what are you doing to make a change other then complain about recruiters in the schools? What you are doing is discouraging yound men and women to explore the opportunity of the military in their future. You are the ones denying them their freedoms by telling them that the military isn't a viable option. Mrs. Sheehan, I feel for you and your loss. You son was a great patriot for this nation. To bad that you were so demeaning to his sarcific that he didn't receive the honor he deserved. You turned it into political revenge. To bad that more people like your son don't have the same sense to serve their country.

Isn't it amazing how loudly the chickens cluck about the honor of serving under a lying president and a "I've got better things to do" Vice President with five deferments, and who themselves never served in our armed forces!
"We're fighting them there, so we won't have to fight them here, is nothing but a bunch of "Chicken Hawk Crap!"
Why is it you big brave men aren't serving now? If you're too old, how come your kids or grand kids aren't in uniform, and in Iraq?
Why is it that NOT ONE of the Bush or Cheney family members are in uniform? Why is it that none of them have served in Iraq?
Why is it that I never see a recruiting station set up at Repugnican events so you big tough guys can sign up?
Why is it the chant for war and death always comes from those who won't have to do the fighting and dying, like that "Bring It On" coward now in the White House?
I know, if I was in front of you right now, you'd give me a piece of your mind.
Sure you would. From a brain-dead sissy, I doubt it!

Subject: Being 15 or 16
Actually, not too long ago I was fifteen or sixteen. Perhaps because of that I can more easily understand why the kids are so easily manipulated. It's actually quite simple: They want to fit in more than anything. The allure of a organized "fraternity" is great to a kid who seeks acceptance and friendships. They want to belong more than anything and the military tells them "belonging" is as easy is joining. They will belong - no questions asked.

They (even more than adults) will trust and will want to trust these military authority figures. Society has taught them to trust them beyond reasonable doubt. Why would it occur to them that these recruiters have quota or their personal information. They don't understand that the recruiters have studied techniques to pusuade them into signing a contract. They do not understand that the recruiters aren't actually looking out for their well being; that they may be lying. They understand even less that recruitment is more about the figures and numbers - that they are more of an objective to these high-end sellers and less of a child.

Do not misunderstand me. Some kids are wiser than their years, but the sad fact is, nowadays especially, that kids are immature and easily influenced (hence all the emphasis on standing up to peer-pressure). The bottom line is, it's exciting and fun to belong, or to have grown-up plans. It's "awesome" to stand with the well-groomed, respected recruiter dressed in his military uniform. It's almost like a cool big-brother pride he or she feels. But none of it means he or she is prepared to shoot a gun or move away from home even - it simply means that he is a kid still looking for acceptance and praise as kids do, as I did and as I am sure you did, too (unless you were really cool, then it didn't make a difference --- but then again if you were cool you probably weren't approached anyway because you would not have joined).

Subject: Who?
If recruiters are not able to come into high schools and propose the military as a viable option to students after high school, who is going to fill the gap? As you know Americas troops already are stretched thin, we need good young men and women to join the service. This mentality of, ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂOh let someone else do itÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ has to stop. That is not a value or virtue on which America was founded. Whether or not you agree with the war is a moot point. You live free in this country off of the sacrifice of soldiers past and now your country is calling, it needs your help. That help could be joining, letting your son or daughter join and be proud of their choice, or allowing recruiters to promote the military in schools. When you ask that recruiters be removed from schools you are insulting every solider who has ever served. Indirectly you are insinuating that your child is better or too good for the military and better then other men who have served. Your child does not have to join the military; it is not for everyone. It is a decision that should be respected; it is one of the most selfless things you can do. Serving should be a long thought out process for the child. The child should read literature on life in the military, look at the jobs available and what they would be doing with that job. Of course the recruiters are going to tout the benefits and not really talk mention the negative aspects of the military. They are like salesmen; they have quotas they have to reach and are under immense pressure from their superiors to get contracts. (If they do not get the contracts their superiors make their life miserable) If a child joined because the recruiter gave them an x-box, or t-shirts and pencils or let them climb on a rock wall then that is a failure on the part of the parents.

I served in the United States Marine Corps and my four years of active service ended last September. I understand that Mrs. Sheehan has suffered a terrible loss. No parent should ever outlive their children. But I believe that all the supporters of counter recruitment should look at all the facts, all the sides of this issue. Stop being biased! Just like the young lady in the video I shouted, "blood, blood, blood," but I did not say, "I did not sign up for this." I did sign up for that. I signed that contract my recruiter pushed across the desk in front of me with the full knowledge that I could possibly go to war. I may have to kill. I knew this. I was not so naive as to go in the military and not expect the possibilities of war. I also knew exactly what job I would be required to perform. I read my contract. Would you sign a document I put in front of you without reading it? Also, I was not offered an x-box or girls in bikinis or whatever, and I can not recall a single Marine, Soldier, Sailor, or Airman that I met that told me he joined because he got some cool gifts from his recruiter. I have seen that some recruiters have come forward and admitted to these devious tactics, but that is only a few. That's like a drop in a bucket. Are you racist? Do you enjoy stereotyping? Then why say that these are the tactics that all recruiters use because a few stooped to that level. Every person joins for various reasons. Everyone is different. Don't take that choice away from us. Would you like to have a military force like they have in Britain or Turkey? Those countries every male at the age of eighteen HAS to enlist for at least two years. Would you rather allow your child to have a choice? Sure go ahead, educate your children about the military, tell your friends, ask questions, research, but please don't outright deny this freedom to people. People say that counter recruitment will lead to a draft. I don't know if that is true. There is no evidence of that, but I would have to say that if counter recruitment was extremely successful then a draft would be probable. I am going to stop here otherwise I could type all night long. If you do not agree or don't like what I have said here then just take it with a grain of salt. Ignore it if you want. But I do ask you to at least consider the possibility that you have not seen all the sides of this problem. If you have any problems with me or would like to ask me anything please email me at

Well what kind of ignorant person or parent say such a statement. charity (how ironic) is aparently some one who has no idea of the powers outside of this persons retarted tiny culture of self rightousness. To fight for our country and the freedom of our constitutional values is a true honor. It is very easy to understand how impressional minds can be triked into believing a war as honorable. Even this Iraq problem which is not a war as bush keeps calling it "his war on terrorism", has many of ignorant people believing it is about freedom and democracy. Another ironic statement considering our own shattering democracy and fixed elections and boughten supreme courts. In the book "The Art of War" it states; "Never start a battle you know you can not win". Every republican president in my life has created unbeatable wars. Vietnam, War on Drugs, War on Terrorism, are lost at the price of the poor who fight and die and the working class who pay taxes in order to funnel monies into the 1 or 2 percent of the rich. It has always been about money and power and in their mind the time is now to enforce their power over the people in our own homes. Thank you Cindy and everyone who is keeping us aware of the truth and shedding light upon our ignorance.
I wonder if charity signed her name since there is now a new law on the books stating if you "annoy" someone with your email you can go to prison for 2 years and or a $10,000 fine. Because she or he has really annoyed me.

Subject: Military recruitment is important, but why the dishonesty?
I found this video to be incredibly inspiring and important. Cindy Sheehan had the bravery to state what other Gold Star mom's have wanted to but hadn't. This war is wrong and George Bush and the neocons have squandered thousands of our children's lives and futures for a greedy lie. Her son Casey re-enlisted, wanted to serve his country, get a good education and live a life of purpose. His life wasn't considered by people like Cheney, Bush, Wolfowitz and their ilk.
What price can we place on our fallen soldiers?
Over 2000 American soldiers lost, 10,000 or more horribly wounded and psychologically scarred, 1000's of Iraqi civilians killed in errant bombings. As Americans we should be proud of our military and give them the support they need. Keeping them out of harm's way in "elective" wars would be a good start.
Soldiers aren't enlisting for tshirts and pencils. They are enlisting as often the only way to get higher education or a way out of poverty. Most often the promises that our government has made to them have been broken. Please forward this film to everyone you know, the questions it raises are the most important ones that we should be considering as thoughtful, patriotic Americans.

This is the worst attempt at research I have ever seen it's so one sided that I can't believe people actually believe it. I'm sure I could say many things about the military recruiting process being that my husband is a military recruiter but this video is ridiculous. The military is an option for people with lots of benefits that you cannot recieve anywhere else and I yes I am sorry that Cindy Sheehan lost her son but he signed up knowing that the military's purpose is to fight in war times so if you enlist and have expectations of never going to war your a fool (THAT IS WHAT THE MILITARY IS).
As to bribes...xboxes (yeah right) but shirts and pencils of course I don't hear people complaining when their children bring home shirts of colleges or whatever plus a lot of that gear is given out so people can show pride in the fact they are enlisting. Plus if your child is so pathetic he/she can be brought with a t-shirt thats the parents fault.
As for the personal information of students...sorry parents your childs names, addresses, and phone numbers can be obtained from the school directory or online BY STRANGERS so if you want to get mad get mad at the freedom of information act.

It is absolutely NOT "liberal" to interview former recruiters to find out they are under great pressure to secure quotas, and are given authority to falsify recruit information in order to make a sale.
To you who throw about the word "liberal" as though it is almost a swear word, you give yourselves away. Come up with a better argument, or you render your ideas irrelevant, like fox news.
Our young people need to know that solving conflicts can be done without violence and serving one's country can be done in many ways, like Americorps. They need to see the others who were sold a college education, then asked to learn to use guns and go for "blood".
Why is a mother's emotion so repulsive? As a mother of 2 sons, I say Hooray for Cindy, she is being all she can be, doing her all to stop this madness, which is not about freedom, but about corpororate profits.

Is it a BAD thing now to join the military or something? Good grief, this leftist nonsense is terrifying to watch, especially the melodramatic crying from Mrs. Sheehan. The choice to join the military is still just that. . . A CHOICE, whether there are recruiters in this world or not.

Please, leave leftist trash like this where it belongs: in the garbage can. To say you "support the troops" and then condone nonsense like this only proves the point we Conservatives have been striving to make all along. The hypocrisy never ends.

Unbelievable. . . and to make it sound like being recruited in the military leads to being near-suicidal?? Are you KIDDING me?! I grieve for Mrs. Sheehan's loss, but her handling of this situation has been unhinged liberalism at its worst.

If this kind of nonsense would have been occuring during World War II, the USA would never have gone anywhere. If a student chooses to join the military, it is an HONOR. . . yes, an HONOR to support this great democracy and there is NO greater honor than to die for this country to protect people like me, or their family members.

I'm so incensed at this video I could go on for a while, but my point has already been proven many times over by others and by the outright hypocrisy of the left. If you really "support the troops", Mrs. Sheehan, then show your son the honor and respect that his death deserves.

There's also information on how you can change your school's policies regarding Pentagon recruiter access to children at http://www.leavemychildalone.org

Please tell others -- you might just save a life!

Subject: Tales From the 3rd Reich
I was a teacher at a small rural middle school in KY last year and the military recruiters were after them. They had an ROTC program set up for them and told them about all these benefits they could get at age 12-13. They were promised that if they completed 5 years of ROTC (8th grade through high school) they would get faster promotion and more perks upon graduation. What was most horrible was, their parents could sign them up for the program against their wishes. Now I see from this video they give them X-Boxes! I have no idea who repeatedly tore down those ROTC posters in the hallways. I never objected though.

I hated to see those little 13 year olds marching around in the school parkinglot dressed in fatigues with little wooden toy guns. It was so fascist. It was such a disappointment to be a teacher there.

Subject: Wow.
This is very powerful, very moving, very emotional and also very rational. If every parent knew about the provision in the No Child Left Behind act, most would act to protect their child from the predatory tactics of the military. While some recruits enter the military willfully and with the full support of their families, too many are deceived into joining. It has to stop.

This film is so very important. We should do everything possible to get this into the hands of every school, every parent, and every student. The government is sparing no cost to take our children into harms way. We must
protect them at every front. Thank you for making this film...now it's up to us to get it out
into the field before any more lives are lost.
